By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
At Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School North Ryde we work together to inspire and empower students through authentic, engaging and meaningful learning experiences. This helps them to make connections between learning and global citizenship.
We also provide opportunities for students to engage in learning that is tailored to their personal needs and abilities. We value student voice and choice, and through personalised and inquiry-based learning strategies, we aim to provide students with opportunities to develop their skills and talents.
We aspire to have the courage to live out our vision statement; ‘Opening hearts and minds for an ever changing world’. Our vision aims to develop an authentic Catholic school which shares the evangelising mission of the Church to develop successful learners, who are confident, creative and informed citizens for the future.
There exists a strong commitment to student wellbeing and we encourage students to live out our values of respect, honesty, collaboration, courage, inclusiveness and compassion through daily interactions with peers, teachers and the community at large.
Our staff work closely with parents to ensure the learning environment is welcoming and safe for all students.
